About Jagannath Rath Yatra· महत्व
Three new chariots are built every year: Nandighosa for Jagannath, Taladhwaja for Balabhadra and Darpadalana for Subhadra. Before they roll, the Gajapati king sweeps the chariots with a golden broom (Chhera Pahanra), and lakhs of devotees pull the ropes.
The deities stay at the Gundicha temple for about a week and return in the Bahuda Yatra. ISKCON holds rath yatras in cities around the world.
