About Gudi Padwa· महत्व
The gudi is a flag of victory and good fortune, decorated with neem and mango leaves, a flower garland and a string of sugar crystals. The day also begins the Shalivahana Shaka year.
Families eat a paste of neem leaves and jaggery for health, and make puran poli and shrikhand. Shobha yatras fill the streets of Mumbai, Pune and Thane.
