About Nag Panchami· महत्व
Snakes are revered as guardians of the earth and are closely associated with Shiva and with Vishnu, who rests on Shesha. Images of nagas are drawn or made in clay and worshipped with milk, flowers and rice; many avoid digging the earth on this day.
How Nag Panchami is observed· विधि
- Worship images of the nagas with milk, durva, flowers and rice.
- Offer milk at a naga shrine or anthill (not to live snakes).
- Avoid digging or ploughing, and keep a fast if you wish.
