When is Karwa Chauth?करवाचौथ कब है?

It is kept on the day Chaturthi is current at moonrise; the fast ends after sighting the moon.

The day begins with sargi, a pre-dawn meal sent by the mother-in-law. In the evening women gather in their finery to hear the Karwa Chauth katha, the story of Queen Veeravati, and worship Karwa Mata (Parvati) with an earthen karwa pot. When the moon rises they see it through a sieve, offer it water, and take their first sip from their husband's hands.

It is kept most widely in Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh.
