About Narak Chaturdashi· महत्व
Narakasura had imprisoned thousands of women and terrorised the gods until Krishna, with Satyabhama, destroyed him. In South India this morning is the main Deepavali: families rise before dawn for an oil bath with ubtan, burst crackers and share sweets.
In North India it is Choti Diwali, with a few lamps lit in the evening, and in Gujarat Kali Chaudas.
